KAUSANI, UTTARANCHAL



Kaushani  is a picturesque hill station famous for its scenic splendour,situated in the Almora district of the Uttarakhand,the state located in the northern part of India. It is often referred to as the Land of Gods.
Nature has bestowed Kausani with its beauty to make it a destination par-excellence level Mahatma Gandhi was also driven by the beauteousness
of Kausani.
The hill station providing an excellent view of the 350km stretch of the Himalayas on a clear sky. The peaks like Trisul, Nanda Devi
and Panchchuli are distinctly visible and is so vivid that one gets a
feeling of the snow being within touching distance, from Kausani.
The invigorating and captivating views of the majestic Himalayan
peaks can be seen from Kausani. The view of the greater Himalayas
from Kausani kindles hope even in the greatest pessimist with depressed feelings.

Kausani can be visited any time of the year. If you want to see the greenery of Uttarakhand then visit Kausani from July to Mid September. Kausani is covered with the sheets of snow from December to Mid February



Mahatma Gandhi, during his stay at Kausani, penned his memorable commentary on the 'Gita-Anashakti Yoga' inspired by the scenic grandeur of this richly gifted spot. Mahatma Gandhi was so much impresses that he started calling it “Switzerland of India”. The guesthouse where Mahatma Gandhi stayed is now known as the Anashakti Ashram.




Baijnath Temple : Baijnath 17 kms far away from Kausani, the mainly essential historical place in Uttranchal. Baijnath is located on the banks of Gomti in the Garuda Valley. The Baijnath temple was build thousands year ago and can still be accepted for its carvings and sculptures. In this temple complex the main attraction is the black stone idol of Parvati at the main entrance. A Kali temple is located 8km from Baijnath known as Kot-ki-mai. There are some aged temples can also be found at here.
